Hadith 109:20
Ishaq narrated to us, Sufyan narrated to us, from Muhammad ibn al-Munkadir, from Jabir, who said: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said to me: "If the wealth of Bahrain were to arrive, I would give you like this, and like this, and like this." And Sufyan scooped with his hand, showing us three scoops towards his head. The wealth of Bahrain did not arrive until the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) passed away. When the wealth of Bahrain arrived, Abu Bakr stood up and said: "Whoever has a promise or a debt from the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), let him come." Jabir said: So I came to him and said: "The Prophet (ﷺ) promised me." He said: So he gave me. Then I came to him after that asking him, but he did not give me. Then I came to him a third time and said: "I asked you, and you did not give me; and I asked, and you did not give me. So either you give me, or you are being stingy with me." He said: "And what disease is more severe than stinginess? I have not withheld from you on any occasion except that I intended to give you."
