Hadith 109:216

Abu Khaythama narrated to us, Yazid bin Harun narrated to us, al-Awwam bin Hawshab informed us, he said: Talha bin Nafi’ narrated to me, from Jabir, who said: A man passed by the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace), and they spoke about him and praised him. So he (the Prophet) said: "Who will kill him?" Abu Bakr said: "I will." So he went off and found that he had drawn a line around himself, and he was standing praying within it. When he saw him in that state, he returned and did not kill him. The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) said: "Who will kill him?" Umar said: "I will." So he went and saw him praying in the line, standing and praying, so he returned and did not kill him. The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) said: "Who will take care of him?" or "Who will kill him?" Ali said: "I will." The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) said: "You [will], but I do not think you will reach him." So he went off and found that he had [already] gone.
