Abu Khaythama narrated to us, Sa'id bin 'Amir narrated to us, Hisham al-Dastawa'i narrated to us, from Abu al-Zubayr, from Jabir, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) forbade onions and leeks. He said: Then the need overcame us, so we ate from them. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: Whoever eats from this foul plant, let him not approach our mosque, for the angels are harmed by what humans—or he said, the children of Adam—are harmed by.
