Abu Khaythama narrated to us, Rawh narrated to us, Zakariyya narrated to us, Abu al-Zubayr narrated to us that he heard Jabir saying: "I went on a military expedition with the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) nineteen times." Jabir said: "I did not witness Badr nor Uhud; my father prevented me." He said: "Then when Abdullah was killed on the day of Uhud, I never stayed behind from the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) in any military expedition at all."
