Ubayd Allah ibn Umar al-Qawariri narrated to us, Yahya ibn Sa'id narrated to us, Ja'far ibn Muhammad narrated to us, my father narrated to me, he said: Jabir ibn Abdullah said to me: Your cousin, al-Hasan ibn Muhammad, asked me about the ritual bath for major impurity (janabah). I said: The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) used to pour [water] over his head three times with his hand. He said: "Indeed, my hair is thick." I said: "O son of my brother, the hair of the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) was thicker than your hair, and better."
