Hadith 109:98

Bishr ibn al-Walid narrated to us, Fulayh ibn Sulayman narrated to us, from Sa'id ibn al-Harith, from Jabir ibn 'Abd Allah, who said: The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) and a man from his companions entered upon a man from the Ansar while he was diverting water in his garden. He said: "If you have water that has spent this night in a water skin, then [we will drink], otherwise we will drink directly from the source (kar'ana)." He said: "Yes, O Messenger of Allah, I have water that has spent the night in a water skin." He said: "So we set off to the arbor (arish)." He went and milked a sheep into the water that had spent the night in a water skin. He said: "Then the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) drank." He said: "Then I returned with the like of that, and his companion drank."
