Musnad Abu Ya'la al-Mawsili 247:1

Al-Abbas ibn al-Walid al-Narsi narrated to us, Abd al-A’la Abu Muhammad al-Sami narrated to us, Sa’id—meaning al-Jurayri—narrated to us, from Abu Nadra, from Abdullah ibn Mawla al-Qushayri, who said: I was in al-Ahwaz when a large old man passed by me on a mule, and he was saying: "O Allah, my generation from this nation has passed away, so join me with them." My mount caught up with him, and I said: "And me, may Allah have mercy on you." He said: "And this companion of mine, if he wishes for that." Then he said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "The best of my nation is my generation, then those who follow them." I do not know if he mentioned a third or not. "Then a people will come after them in whom obesity will appear, and they will offer testimony without being asked for it." And behold, it was Abu Barzah al-Aslami.
