Hadith of Abu Basra al-Ghifari (RA)
Hadith 239:1
Amr ibn Muhammad al-Naqid narrated to us, Ya'qub ibn Ibrahim ibn Sa'd narrated to us, he said: My father narrated to me, from Muhammad ibn Ishaq, he said: Yazid ibn Abi Habib narrated to me, from Khayr ibn Nu'aym al-Hadrami, from Abdullah ibn Hubayrah al-Saba'i—and he was trustworthy—from Abu Tamim al-Jayshani, from Abu Basrah al-Ghifari, who said: The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) led us in the Asr prayer. When he finished his prayer—Ya'qub said another time: When he turned away from his prayer—he said: "Indeed, this prayer was presented to those who were before you, but they were negligent regarding it and abandoned it. So, whoever among you performs it, his reward shall be doubled for him twice. And there is no prayer after it until the *shahid* is seen." And the *shahid* is the star.
