Musnad Abu Ya'la al-Mawsili 243:27

Abu Musa narrated—while he was at the monastery in Isfahan—he said: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "Indeed, before the Hour, there will be *al-harj*." He said: We said: "And what is *al-harj*?" He said: "Killing." He said: We said: "By Allah, we kill more than seventy thousand of the polytheists in a single year!" He said: He replied: "By Allah, it is not the killing of the polytheists, but rather it is some of you killing others." He said: We said: "And we have the Book of Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, among us, and we have our intellects with us?" He said: "And the Book of Allah is among you." He said: "You think that you have your intellects, but the intellects of most of the people of that time will be snatched away, and they will think that they are upon something, while they are upon nothing. And there will remain behind for it the dregs of the people, who think that they are in something, while they are in nothing." He said: We said: "What is the salvation from that?" He said: "I do not find for myself or for you any salvation from it, if it reaches us, according to what our Prophet (peace be upon him) entrusted to us, except that we exit from it as the day we entered it."
