Musnad Abu Ya'la al-Mawsili 243:35

Ahmad ibn al-Miqdam al-'Ijli narrated to us, Hazm narrated to us, he said: I heard al-Hasan narrating from Abu Musa, attributing it to the Prophet (may Allah bless him and grant him peace), he said: "Indeed, before the Hour, there will be *al-harj*." They said: "And what is *al-harj*, O Messenger of Allah?" He said: "Killing." They said: "Is what we kill every year—a hundred thousand of the polytheists—not enough?" He said: "It is not that, but rather the killing of one another." They said: "And will we have our intellects with us?" He said: "Indeed, the intellects of the people of that time will be snatched away, and there will remain for it the dregs of the people, who think that they are upon something, while they are upon nothing." Abu Musa said: "I do not see it but that it will overtake me and you. So I do not know of an exit from it, regarding what was entrusted to us, except that we exit from it as the day we entered into it."
