Hadith of Abu Musa al-Ash'ari (RA)
حديث أبي موسى الأشعري
Hadith 243:47
Abu Kurayb narrated to us, Yahya ibn Burayd narrated to us, Abd al-Rahman ibn Sa'id narrated to us, from his father, Sa'id ibn Abi Burdah, from Abu Burdah, who said: He arrived to visit Umar—or perhaps he said Sulayman—and he fulfilled his needs. When it was part of the night, he said, "Stand up." He said: So I stood up, and he set off toward the door of the governor and knocked on it. The doorkeeper said, "Who is this?" He said, "Abu Burdah. Seek permission for me to see him." He said: So he entered and said, "Inform him of my presence." He informed him, so he came out to him and gave him permission. He said, "Is everything well, O Abu Burdah?" He said, "Everything is well." He said, "What is your need?" He said, "I have already finished my needs, but I remembered a hadith that my father narrated to me. He said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: 'When Allah gathers the creation for the reckoning, a Jew or a Christian will be brought, and it will be said, "O believer, this is your ransom from the Fire."' He said, "Did you hear it?" He said, "I heard it from my father."
