Hadith of Abu Musa al-Ash'ari (RA)
Hadith 243:53
Abu Bakr narrated to us, Husayn ibn Ali narrated to us, from Ja'far ibn Burqan, from Thabit ibn al-Hajjaj, from Abu Burdah, from his father, who said: Two men from Hadramawt disputed before the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) regarding a piece of land. He said to the defendant, "Take an oath." The plaintiff said, "O Messenger of Allah, I have nothing but his oath, and then he will take away my land." He (the Prophet) said, "If he seizes it by his oath, he will be among those whom Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, will not speak to, nor look at, nor purify, and for him is a painful punishment." He said: So the other man refrained (from taking the oath) and returned it to him.
