Musnad Abu Ya'la al-Mawsili 243:8

'Uqbah ibn Mukram narrated to us, Yunus narrated to us, he said: 'Abd al-Ghaffar ibn al-Qasim narrated to us, from Iyad ibn Laqit, from Qurzah ibn Hassan, who said: I heard Abu Musa on a Friday on the pulpit of Basra saying: The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) was asked about the Hour while I was a witness. He said: "None knows it except Allah; none shall reveal it at its time except Him. But I will tell you of its signs and what lies before it. Indeed, before it is a barrier of tribulations and *harj*." It was said: "And what is *harj*, O Messenger of Allah?" He said: "It is, in the language of the Abyssinians, killing. And that the hearts of the people will become light, and that denial will be cast among them, so that hardly anyone will recognize anyone else. The people of intellect will be raised, and there will remain a rabble of people who neither recognize what is good nor deny what is evil."
