Musnad Abu Ya'la al-Mawsili 243:95

On the authority of Abu Musa, he said: The news of the emergence of the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) reached us while we were in Yemen. So we set out migrating to him, along with two brothers of mine—I was the youngest of them—one of them was Abu Burdah and the other was Abu Ruhm. He said either "a few" or "fifty-two or three" men from my people. We boarded a ship, and our ship cast us to the Negus in Abyssinia. We met Ja'far ibn Abi Talib and his companions with him. Ja'far said: "The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) sent us and commanded us to stay, so stay with us." We stayed with him until we all arrived. He said: We met the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) at the time he conquered Khaybar, and he allotted us a share—or he said: he gave us from it. He did not divide anything for anyone who was absent from the conquest—meaning Khaybar—except for those who were present with him, except for the companions of our ship with Ja'far and his companions; he divided for them along with them. He said: Some people used to say to us—meaning the people of the ship—"We preceded you in migration." He said: Asma bint Umays, who was among those who arrived with us, entered upon Hafsa, the wife of the Prophet (may Allah bless him and grant him peace), as a visitor, and she had migrated to the Negus among those who migrated to him. Umar entered upon Hafsa while Asma bint Umays was with her. When Umar saw Asma, he said: "Who is this?" She said: "Asma bint Umays." Umar said: "The Abyssinian? The seafaring one?" Asma said: "Yes." Umar said: "We preceded you in migration; we have more right to the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) than you." She became angry and said a word, "O Umar, no, by Allah! You were with the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace), he would feed your hungry and admonish your ignorant, while we were in the land of the distant and hateful ones in Abyssinia, and that was for the sake of Allah and His Messenger (may Allah bless him and grant him peace). By Allah, I will not eat food nor drink a drink until I mention what you said to the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace). We were being harmed and were afraid, and I will mention that to the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) and ask him. By Allah, I will not lie, nor deviate, nor add anything to that." When the Prophet (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) came, she said: "O Prophet of Allah, Umar said such and such." The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) said: "And what did you say to him?" She said: "I said such and such." He said: "He has no more right to me than you. He and his companions have one migration, and you, the people of the ship, have two migrations." She said: I saw Abu Musa and the companions of the ship coming to me in groups, asking me about this hadith. There was nothing in the world they were more joyful about, nor greater in their estimation, than what the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) said. Abu Burdah said: Asma said: I saw Abu Musa, and he was asking me to repeat this hadith to him.
