Musnad Abu Ya'la al-Mawsili 238:7

Ishaq narrated to us, Asim narrated to us, he said: Al-Mas'udi narrated to me, from Abu Bakr bin Hafs, from Abdullah bin Amir bin Rabi'ah, from his father, who said: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) would send us out while we had no food except for a loan of dates, so we would divide it handful by handful, until we reached a single date by a single date. By Allah, ever since we lost it, we have been in a state of deficiency.
