Musnad Abu Ya'la al-Mawsili 190:1

'Ukaf ibn Wada'ah al-Hilali came to the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, and the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said to him: "O 'Ukaf, do you have a wife?" He said: "No." He said: "Nor a slave girl?" He said: "No." He said: "And you are healthy and wealthy?" He said: "Yes, and praise be to Allah." He said: "Then you are one of the brothers of the devils. If you were one of the monks of the Christians, you would be one of them, but if you are one of us, then do as we do, for it is our Sunnah to marry. The worst of you are your bachelors, and the lowest of your dead are your bachelors. They are the fathers of the devils; you are struggling. There is no weapon in my soul that is more effective against the righteous among men and women than those who are married; those are the purified, the ones cleared of indecency." "Woe to you, O 'Ukaf! They are the companions of David, the companions of Job, the companions of Joseph, and the companions of Kirsuf." He said: "And what is Kirsuf, O Messenger of Allah?" He said: "A man who was among the Children of Israel on one of the shores of the sea. He would fast by day and stand in prayer by night, never flagging in prayer or fasting. Then he disbelieved after that in Allah the Great because of a woman he fell in love with, so he abandoned what he was upon of the worship of his Lord. Then Allah reached him with what had preceded from him, so He accepted his repentance." "Woe to you, O 'Ukaf! Marry, for you are among the waverers." 'Ukaf said: "O Messenger of Allah, I will not depart until you marry me to whom you wish." The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said: "I have married you, in the name of Allah and with blessing, to Karimah bint Kulthum al-Himyari."
