Zakariya ibn Yahya narrated to us, Sharik narrated to us, from Simak, from Jabir ibn Samurah, who said: I sat with the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, more than one hundred times. His companions would recite poetry to one another and discuss things from the affairs of the Jahiliyyah (pre-Islamic era), and he would sometimes smile with them.
