Musnad Abu Ya'la al-Mawsili 246:13

Abu Khaythama narrated to us, Abd al-Malik ibn Amr Abu Amir narrated to us, from Zuhayr ibn Muhammad, from Abdullah ibn Muhammad ibn Aqil, from Muhammad ibn Jubayr ibn Mut'im, from his father, that a man came to the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, and said: "O Messenger of Allah, which of the lands is the worst?" He said: "I do not know." When Jibril, peace be upon him, came to him, Jibril said: "Which of the lands is the worst?" He said: "I do not know until I ask my Lord, the Mighty and Majestic." Jibril departed and remained for as long as Allah willed, then he came and said: "O Muhammad, you asked me which of the lands is the worst, and I said I do not know. And I asked my Lord, the Mighty and Majestic, which of the lands is the worst, and He said: 'Its marketplaces.'"
