Musnad Abu Ya'la al-Mawsili 237:6

Surayj narrated to us, Yahya narrated to us, he said: Isma'il narrated to me, from Qays, he said: Khalid ibn al-Walid said: "Jihad in the way of Allah has prevented me from much of the recitation [of the Quran]." And by the same chain, from Qays, he said: I was informed that the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said: "Do not revile Khalid, for he is a sword from the swords of Allah, which Allah has unsheathed against the disbelievers."
