Hadith of a man from Judham called Adi (RA)

حديث رجل من جذام يقال له عدي

Hadith 192:1

'Abd al-A'la ibn Hammad and al-'Abbas ibn al-Walid narrated to us—and his copy is from the hadith of 'Abd al-A'la—they said: Wuhayb narrated to us, he said: 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Harmalah narrated to us, he said: A man among them, who was called 'Adi, narrated to me: There was a neighborly relationship between him and two women. He threw a stone at one of them and killed her. So he rode to the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) while he was at Tabuk, and he asked him about the matter of the killed woman. He said: "You pay her blood money, and you do not inherit from her." 'Adi said: It is as if I am looking at the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) upon a red, ear-cropped she-camel. He said: "O people, the hands are only three: the hand of Allah is the highest, the hand of the giver is the middle, and the hand of the asker is the lowest. So abstain from asking, even if it be for a bundle of firewood." Then he raised his hands and said: "O Allah, I have conveyed."
