Hadith of Maymunah (RA), wife of the Prophet (SAW)
Hadith 216:7
Abu Khaythama narrated to us, Jarir narrated to us, from Yazid ibn Abi Ziyad, from Yazid ibn al-Asamm, from his maternal aunt Maymunah, who said: A dabb (lizard) was gifted to us. She said: Two men from her people came to her, so she ordered it to be prepared, and then she brought it near to them. She said: Then the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, came to me while they were eating. He welcomed them, then he began to eat. When he took the morsel to his mouth, he said: "What is this?" She said: "A dabb that was gifted to us." She said: So he put down the morsel. The two men wanted to throw out what was in their mouths, but the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said: "Do not do so. You are the people of Najd, you eat it, and we are the people of Tihamah, we find it repulsive."
