Musnad Abu Ya'la al-Mawsili 216:9

Muhammad ibn Abdullah ibn Numayr narrated to us, Yahya ibn Abdullah narrated to us, Layth narrated to us, from Kathir ibn Farqad, from Abdullah ibn Malik ibn Hudhafah, from his mother, al-Aliyah, from Maymunah, who said: Some men from Quraysh passed by the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, dragging a sheep. He said, "Why did you not make use of its hide?" They said, "It is carrion." He said, "Water and qarz (acacia pods) purify it."
