Musnad Abu Ya'la al-Mawsili 226:1

Ubayd Allah ibn Umar al-Qawariri narrated to us, Alila bint al-Kumayt narrated to us, she said: My mother, Amina, narrated to me that Amat Allah bint Ruzaynah narrated to her, from her mother Ruzaynah, the freedwoman of the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace), that Sawda al-Yamaniyya came to visit Aisha, and Hafsa bint Umar was with her. Sawda came in a good appearance and state, wearing a garment of Yemeni fabric and a head covering of the same, and upon her were two spots like lentils made of aloe and saffron at her inner eye corners. Alila said: I witnessed women adorning themselves with it. Hafsa said to Aisha: "O Mother of the Believers, the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) will come, and this one is among us shining." The Mother of the Believers said to her: "Fear Allah, O Hafsa; fear Allah, O Hafsa." She said: "I will surely spoil her adornment." She said: "What are you saying?" And there was a heaviness in her hearing. Hafsa said to her: "O Sawda, the one-eyed one has emerged." She said: "Yes." She became extremely terrified and began to tremble. She said: "Where shall I hide?" She said: "Go to the tent," a tent of theirs made of palm fronds in which they cooked. So she went and hid in it, and it contained filth and spider webs. The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) came while the two of them were laughing, unable to speak from laughter. He said: "What is this laughter?" three times. They gestured with their hands toward the tent. He went, and behold, Sawda was trembling. He said to her: "O Sawda, what is the matter with you?" She said: "O Messenger of Allah, the one-eyed one has emerged." He said: "He has not emerged, and he will surely emerge; he has not emerged, and he will surely emerge; he has not emerged, and he will surely emerge." Then he entered and brought her out, and he began to shake the dust and spider webs from her.
