Hadith of Umm al-Fadl bint al-Harith (RA)
Hadith 214:6
Abu Khaythama narrated to us, Yahya ibn Ghaylan narrated to us, al-Mufaddal ibn Fadala narrated to us, he said: Yazid ibn Abdullah ibn al-Had narrated to me, that Hind bint al-Harith narrated to him, from Umm al-Fadl bint al-Abbas, she said: The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) entered upon his uncle while he was ill, wishing for death due to what he was in from his illness. So the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) struck his hand upon the chest of al-Abbas, then said: "Do not wish for death, O uncle of the Messenger of Allah. For if you remain, you will increase in good; if that happens, it is better for you. And if you remain, you will seek to make amends for something; if that happens, it is better for you."
