Musnad Abu Ya'la al-Mawsili 129:42

Wahb narrated to us, Khalid informed us, from Humayd, from Anas, that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) visited a man who had become like a plucked chick. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "What were you supplicating or asking Him for?" He said, "I used to say: 'O Allah, whatever You are going to punish me with in the Hereafter, hasten it for me in this world.'" He said, "Subhan Allah! Are you able to bear that? Why did you not say: 'O Allah, our Lord, give us in this world [that which is] good and in the Hereafter [that which is] good and protect us from the punishment of the Fire'?" He said, so he supplicated to Allah, and He healed him.
