Musnad Abu Ya'la al-Mawsili 129:60
Humayd al-Tawil from Anas bin Malik (RA)
Hadith 129:60
On the authority of Anas, he said: The Prophet (peace be upon him) returned from Khaybar, and when he was between Medina and Khaybar, he consummated the marriage with Safiyyah. He stayed with her for three days and held a wedding feast. Umm Sulaym baked bread, spread out a leather mat, and they poured dates, ghee, and dried yogurt (aqt) upon it, and there was nothing else besides that. Then he mounted, and the people said: "If he veils her, then she is one of the Mothers of the Believers." When he mounted, he carried her with him and veiled her with a garment. When he entered Medina, he urged his camel to go faster and spurred his mount. When he entered, he urged his camel to go faster, and the people climbed up, and the Mothers of the Believers were looking at the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) and at her. The she-camel stumbled, and the Prophet (peace be upon him) was thrown off. He had no concern other than to fix her garments upon her. He said: It was as if they (the wives) gloated over her.
