Musnad Abu Ya'la al-Mawsili 129:86

'Abd al-A'la narrated to us, Mu'tamir narrated to us, he said: I heard Humayd narrating from Anas, who said: The Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, went out one day and traveled toward Badr. He began to consult the people, and Abu Bakr advised him. Then he consulted them again, and 'Umar advised him. He continued to consult them, and the Ansar said, "By Allah, he does not want anyone but us." A man from the Ansar said, "I see you consulting, and they advise you, and we do not say as the Children of Israel said: 'Go you and your Lord and fight.' Rather, by the One who sent you with the truth, if you were to strike their flanks until you reached al-Ghimad, we would be with you."
