Abu al-Rabi' narrated to us, Sharik ibn 'Abd Allah narrated to us, from Husayn ibn 'Abd Allah, from 'Ikrimah, from Ibn 'Abbas, who said: The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) prayed in a garment, having crossed its two ends over one another, wrapping himself in it, protecting himself with the excess of the garment from the heat of the ground and its cold.
