Musnad Abu Ya'la al-Mawsili 110:173

Abu Bakr narrated to us, Yahya ibn Ya'la narrated to us, he said: My father narrated to me, Ghaylan narrated to us, from Uthman Abu al-Yaqzan, from Ja'far ibn Iyas, from Mujahid, from Ibn Abbas, who said: When this verse was revealed: "Those who hoard gold and silver" (At-Tawbah), it weighed heavily upon the Muslims. They said: "None of us is able to leave wealth for his children that will remain after him." Umar said: "I will relieve you of this." So they set out, and Umar set out, and Thawban followed him. He came to the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, and said: "O Prophet of Allah, this verse has weighed heavily upon your companions." The Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said: "Indeed, Allah did not ordain Zakat except to purify what remains of your wealth, and He only ordained inheritance for wealth so that it may remain for those after you." He said: So Umar said: "Allahu Akbar." Then the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said to him: "Shall I not inform you of what a man should hoard? A righteous woman: if he looks at her, she pleases him; if he commands her, she obeys him; and if he is absent from her, she guards him."
