Zuhayr narrated to us, Ya'qub ibn Ibrahim narrated to us, my father narrated to us, from Ibn Ishaq, Muhammad ibn Muslim al-Zuhri narrated to me, from Tawus al-Yamani, who said: I said to Abdullah ibn Abbas: "They claim that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: 'Perform ghusl on the day of Jumu'ah and wash your heads, unless you are in a state of janabah (major ritual impurity), and apply some perfume.'" Ibn Abbas said: "As for the perfume, I do not know, but as for the ghusl, then yes."
