Ubayd Allah narrated to us, my father narrated to us, Qurra narrated to us, from Abu al-Zubayr, from Jabir ibn Abdullah, who said: The Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, called for a parchment at the time of his death to write in it a document for his nation, saying: "They will not go astray, and they will not be led astray." There was clamor in the house, and Umar ibn al-Khattab spoke, so the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, abandoned it.
