Musnad Abu Ya'la al-Mawsili 108:117

Ja'far ibn Humayd al-Kufi narrated to us, Ya'qub—meaning al-Qummi—narrated to us, from 'Isa ibn Jariyah, from Jabir, who said: A man used to transport wine from Khaybar to Medina and sell it to the Muslims. He transported some of it with wealth, and when he arrived in Medina, a man from the Muslims met him and said, "O so-and-so, the wine has been prohibited." So he placed it where he had arrived, upon a hill, and covered it with cloaks. Then he came to the Prophet (peace be upon him) and said, "O Messenger of Allah, it has reached me that wine has been prohibited." He said, "Yes." He said, "Shall I return it to the one from whom I bought it?" He said, "It is not proper to return it." He said, "Shall I gift it to someone who will compensate me for it?" He said, "No." He said, "Indeed, there is wealth in it for orphans under my guardianship." He said, "When the wealth of Bahrain comes to us, come to us, and we will compensate your orphans from their wealth." Then he called out in Medina. The man said, "O Messenger of Allah, the vessels, may we benefit from them?" He said, "Loosen their ties." So it poured out until it settled in the bottom of the valley.
