Musnad Abu Ya'la al-Mawsili 108:187

Zakariya ibn Yahya narrated to us, Hushaym narrated to us, from Abu al-Zubayr, from Jabir, who said: We were with Abu Ubaydah ibn al-Jarrah in a military expedition or an army, and our provisions ran out. We caught sight of a whale that the sea had cast up. We wanted to eat from it, but Abu Ubaydah forbade us. Then he said: "We are the messengers of the Messenger of Allah and in the path of Allah, so eat." And we ate from it. When we returned, we mentioned that to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), and he said: "If you have any of it with you, then send some of it to us."
