Ubayd Allah ibn Umar Abu Sa'id narrated to us, Hammad narrated to us, Amr informed us, from Jabir, who said: When "Say, He is the One capable of sending upon you punishment from above you or from beneath your feet" was revealed, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "I seek refuge in Your Face." [He continued:] "Or [He] confuses you into sects and makes some of you taste the violence of others" (Al-An'am). He said: "This is lighter," or "This is easier."
