Musnad Abu Ya'la al-Mawsili 77:1

'Abd al-A'la ibn Hammad, 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Salam, and a number [of others] said: Abu 'Awanah narrated to us, from Abu al-Juwayriyah, from Ma'n ibn Yazid, who said: I pledged allegiance to the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, I, my father, and my grandfather. I brought a dispute before him, and he gave me victory [in the matter]. He proposed on my behalf and married me off. Ma'n said: Spoils are not lawful until they are divided among the people all at once. When it is divided, it becomes lawful for me to give to you. This is the wording of 'Abd al-A'la specifically, and it is not in the hadith of anyone else: "When it is divided, I will give to you."
