Musnad Abu Ya'la al-Mawsili 114:7

'Amr ibn al-Dahhak narrated to us, my father narrated to us, he said: I heard Ash'ath al-Humrani say: Muhammad ibn Sirin said: Anas ibn Malik narrated to me that it reached Abu Talhah that there was no food with the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace. So he went and hired himself out for a sa' of barley, and he worked that day of his. He brought it and said, "Bake this." She said, "It is barley, but make it into *khatifah* (a type of porridge)." So she made it. Then he sent Anas ibn Malik and said, "Go to the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, and say to him, between you and him [privately]..." So he came to the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, while his companions were with him. He said, "The food?" He said, "Yes." He said, "Stand up." So they stood up. When Anas came to Abu Talhah, he said, "I said this." He said, "The food?" I disliked to lie. So the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, stood up and called ten, and they entered and ate until they were full. Then he called ten, and they entered and ate until they were full. Then he called ten, and they entered and ate until they were full. Then there remained for his family what they could be satisfied with.
