Musnad Abu Ya'la al-Mawsili 115:164

Muhammad narrated to us, Muhammad ibn Ja'far narrated to us, Shu'bah narrated to us, from Qatadah, from Anas: "I prayed behind the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), and behind Abu Bakr, and behind Umar, and Uthman; they did not begin the recitation with 'In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful'." Shu'bah said: So I said to Qatadah, "Did you hear it from Anas?" He said, "Yes, and we asked him about it."
