Zuhayr narrated to us, Yazid bin Harun narrated to us, Shu'bah informed us, from Qatadah, from Anas, who said: The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) forbade *al-wisal* (fasting continuously for days without breaking the fast). They said: "O Messenger of Allah, but you practice *wisal*." He said: "You are not like my state. I spend the night while I am fed and given to drink."
