Musnad Abu Ya'la al-Mawsili 115:282

Muhammad ibn Mahdi narrated to us, Abd al-Razzaq narrated to us, Ma'mar informed us, from Qatadah, from Anas (may Allah be pleased with him), regarding His saying: "He frowned and turned away." Ibn Umm Maktum came to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) while he was speaking to Ubayy ibn Khalaf, so he turned away from him. Then Allah revealed: "He frowned and turned away." He said: The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to honor him after that. Qatadah said: And Anas ibn Malik informed me, he said: I saw him on the day of al-Qadisiyyah, and he was wearing armor, and with him was a black banner—meaning Ibn Umm Maktum.
