Qatadah from Anas (RA)

Hadith 115:319

Abu Musa narrated to us, Ibn Abi Adi narrated to us, from Sa’id, from Qatadah, from Anas, that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) was approached by [the tribes of] Ri’l, Dhakwan, Usayyah, and Banu Lihyan. They claimed that they had accepted Islam and sought his aid against their people. The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) aided them with seventy of the Ansar. Anas said: We used to call them "the reciters" (al-Qurra') in their time. They would strive in jihad by day and pray by night. They set out with them until, when they reached Bi'r Ma'unah, they betrayed them and killed them. The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) performed Qunut for a month during the morning prayer, supplicating against these tribes: Ri’l, Dhakwan, Usayyah, and Banu Lihyan. Qatadah said: And Anas narrated to us that they recited regarding them a Quran [a revelation]: "Convey to our people on our behalf that we have met our Lord, so He became pleased with us and made us pleased."
