Musnad Abu Ya'la al-Mawsili 115:57

Nafi' ibn Khalid al-Tahi narrated to us, Nuh ibn Qays narrated to us, from Khalid ibn Qays, from Qatadah, from Anas, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Death will be brought on the Day of Resurrection as if it were a piebald ram. It will be made to stand between Paradise and Hell. Then a caller will call out: 'O people of Paradise!' They will say: 'Here we are, our Lord.' It will be said: 'Do you recognize this?' They will say: 'Yes, our Lord, this is death.' Then it will be slaughtered just as a sheep is slaughtered. Then these will be secure, and the hope of those will be cut off."
