Musnad Abu Ya'la al-Mawsili 115:58

Muhammad ibn Ubayd ibn Hisab narrated to us, Abu 'Awanah narrated to us, from Qatadah, from Anas ibn Malik, who said: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "Allah will gather the people on the Day of Resurrection, and they will be inspired to say: 'If only we sought intercession with our Lord so that He might relieve us from this place of ours.' He said: So they will come to Adam and say: 'O Adam, father of creation, Allah created you with His hand, and made His angels prostrate to you, so intercede for us with your Lord so that He might relieve us from this place of ours.' He will say: 'I am not for that,' and he will mention his sin which he committed, and he will feel shy before his Lord because of it. 'But go to Nuh, the first messenger whom Allah sent.' So they will come to Nuh, and he will say: 'I am not for that,' and he will mention his sin which he committed, and he will feel shy before his Lord. 'But go to Ibrahim.' He said: So they will come to Ibrahim, and he will say: 'I am not for that,' and he will mention his sin which he committed, and he will feel shy before his Lord because of it. 'But go to Musa.' So they will come to Musa, and he will say: 'I am not for that,' and he will mention his sin which he committed, and he will feel shy before his Lord because of it. 'But go to 'Isa, the Spirit of Allah and His Word.' He said: So they will come to 'Isa, and he will say: 'I am not for that, but go to Muhammad, a servant whose past and future sins Allah has forgiven.' He said: So they will come to me, and I will seek permission, and permission will be granted to me. When I see my Lord, I will fall prostrate, and He will leave me for as long as Allah wills that He leave me. Then He will say: 'Raise your head, Muhammad. Speak, and you will be heard; ask, and you will be given; intercede, and your intercession will be accepted.' So I will raise my head and praise my Lord with a praise that He will teach me. Then I will intercede, and He will set a limit for me, so I will bring them out of the Fire and enter them into Paradise. Then I will return and fall prostrate, and I will praise my Lord with a praise that He will teach me. Then I will intercede, and He will set a limit for me, so I will bring them out of the Fire and enter them into Paradise. Then I will return and fall prostrate, and I will praise my Lord with a praise that He will teach me. Then it will be said: 'O Muhammad, speak, and you will be heard; ask, and you will be given; intercede, and your intercession will be accepted.' So I will raise my head and praise my Lord with a praise that He will teach me. Then I will intercede, and He will set a limit for me, so I will bring them out of the Fire and enter them into Paradise." And he said in the third or fourth time: "There will remain in the Fire none except those whom the Quran has confined." Qatadah said: Meaning, those for whom eternity has become mandatory.
