Hadith 6:45
Abu Khaythama narrated to us, Yazid bin Harun narrated to us, Ibn Abi Dhi’b informed us, from al-Zuhri, from ‘Amir bin Sa’d, from his father: That a group of people came to the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, and asked him, so he gave them, except for one man among them. Sa’d said: I said, "O Messenger of Allah, you gave them and left out so-and-so. By Allah, I truly see him as a believer." The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said: "Or a Muslim." Sa’d said: He said that three times. Then the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said: "I truly give a man a gift, while someone else is dearer to me than him, and I do not do that except out of fear that Allah will cast him upon his face into the Fire of Hell."
