Musnad Abu Ya'la al-Mawsili 148:94

Abu Bakr ibn Abi Shaybah narrated to us, Abdullah ibn Numayr narrated to us, from Muhammad ibn Isma'il, from 'Amarah ibn 'Asim, who said: I entered upon Anas ibn Malik in his house and asked him about *nabidh* (fermented drink). He said: "The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) forbade the *duba'* (gourd) and the *muzaffat* (pitch-coated vessel)." I said: "And the *hantam* (earthenware jar)?" He repeated it to me. We said: "What is the *hantam*?" He said: "The green jar." Anas ibn Malik said: "O slave girl, bring me that green jar." She brought him a jar, and he poured a cup of *nabidh* for me in it, and I drank it. Then he said: "I did not see a green jar until the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) had passed away, but the *hantam* were green jars that used to come to us from Egypt." Then the slave girl came to him and said: "The prayer, may Allah set you right." He said: "Which prayer?" She said: "The afternoon prayer (*'Asr*)." I said: "I have already prayed it before I entered upon you." He said: "Move back from me; you have not yet prayed the *'Asr*." Then she spoke to him again, and he said to her the same as his first statement. Then she spoke to him again, and she said to him [something], so he said: "You have heard what I said. Bring me water for ablution, for the people are praying this prayer before its time." Then he prayed.
