Musnad Abu Ya'la al-Mawsili 148:97

Abu Bakr ibn Abi Shaybah narrated to us, al-Fadl ibn Dukayn narrated to us, from Zuhayr, from Uthman ibn Hakim, from Ibrahim ibn Muhammad ibn Hatib, from Abu Talhah al-Asadi, from Anas ibn Malik: That the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) went out and saw a prominent dome. He said, "What is this?" His companions said to him, "This belongs to a man from the Ansar." He remained silent and kept it to himself. When its owner came to the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) and greeted him among the people, he turned away from him. He did that to him repeatedly until the man recognized the anger in him and his turning away from him. He complained about that to his companions and said, "By Allah, I truly disapprove of the look of the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace). I do not know what has happened regarding me or what I have done." They said, "The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) went out and saw your dome and said, 'Whose is this?' So we informed him." He returned to his dome and leveled it to the ground. The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) went out one day and did not see the dome. He said, "What happened to the dome that was here?" They said, "Its owner complained to us about your turning away from him, so we informed him, and he demolished it." He said, "Indeed, every building that is built is a burden upon its owner on the Day of Resurrection, except for that which is necessary."
