Hadith 160:230
Abu Musa Muhammad ibn al-Muthanna narrated to us, Mu'ammal narrated to us, 'Ikrimah ibn 'Ammar narrated to us, he said: Sa'id al-Maqburi informed me, from Abu Hurayrah, he said: We went out with the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) on the expedition of Tabuk, and we descended at Thaniyat al-Wada'. The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) saw lamps and saw women weeping. He said: "What is this?" It was said: "They are enjoying themselves (mut'ah) with them, and they are weeping." The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) said: "It has been forbidden," or he said: "It has demolished the mut'ah: marriage, divorce, the waiting period ('iddah), and inheritance."
