Musnad Abu Ya'la al-Mawsili 139:25
Sulayman al-Taymi from Anas ibn Malik (RA)
Hadith 139:25
Ishaq ibn Abi Isra'il narrated to us, Mu'tamir ibn Sulayman narrated to us, he said: I heard my father narrating from Anas, who said: It was said, "O Prophet of Allah, if only you would go to Abdullah ibn Ubayy." So the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, set out and rode a donkey, and the Muslims set out walking, and it was a salty, barren land. When the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, came to him, he (Abdullah) said, "Get away from me, for by Allah, the stench of your donkey has harmed me." A man from the Ansar said, "By Allah, the donkey of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, has a better scent than you." A man from his (Abdullah's) people became angry for Abdullah, and the companions of each of them became angry for them. There was striking between them with palm branches, hands, and sandals. It reached us that it was revealed concerning them: "And if two parties among the believers fight, then make settlement between the two of them" (Al-Hujurat).
