Musnad Abu Ya'la al-Mawsili 4:23

Abu Kurayb narrated to us, Yunus ibn Bukayr narrated to us, from Talha ibn Yahya, from Yahya and Isa, the two sons of Talha, from their father, who said: A camel was passed by the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, which had been branded on its face. He said, "If the owners of this camel had kept the fire away from this animal." He said: So I said, "I will brand it in the furthest place from its face." He said: So it was branded on the rump.
