Musnad Abu Ya'la al-Mawsili 4:30

Bishr ibn al-Walid narrated to us, Fulayh ibn Sulayman narrated to us, from Muhammad ibn al-Munkadir, from Abd al-Rahman ibn Uthman, who said: We went out as pilgrims with Talhah ibn Ubayd Allah, and game (hunted meat) was brought to us. Some of us ate it, and some refrained. He (Talhah) then rose from his sleep—for he had been sleeping—and we informed him (of what happened). He said: "The one who ate has done better, for we ate it with the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace."
