Musnad Abu Ya'la al-Mawsili 4:33

Abu Musa narrated to us, 'Abd al-Malik ibn 'Amr narrated to us, Sulayman ibn Sufyan al-Madani narrated to us, Bilal ibn Yahya ibn Talhah narrated to us, from his father, from his grandfather, that the Prophet (may Allah bless him and grant him peace), when he saw the crescent moon, would say: "O Allah, bring it upon us with blessing, faith, safety, and Islam. My Lord and your Lord is Allah."
